Mourinho drops Moses from Super Cup squad

NIGERIA’S Victor Moses is the only big-name player left behind
by Jose Mourinho for tomorrow’s Super Cup clash against Bayern Munich in
Prague, heightening fears that the days of the Nigerian forward are
numbered at Stamford Bridge.
Moses, David Luiz, Juan Mata, Demba Ba and John Obi Mikel were
stalwarts under interim manager Rafa Benitez last season, helping
Chelsea to a third-place finish in the English Premier League and a
Europa League triumph.
However, returning coach Mourinho, has shown little faith in this set
of players as Moses and Luiz did not to play any of the first three
games in this season’s EPL while Ba, Mata and Mikel have made cameo
appearances.
However, all but Moses were picked for the trip to Prague.
Moses was a subject of transfer saga between Chelsea and Wigan
Athletic in last season’s transfer window before Italian trainer Roberto
di Matteo successfully landed the Nigerian for Chelsea in a £9million.
Meanwhile, there are interests from Liverpool and West Ham for Moses
but reports claim Chelsea are more favourably disposed to loan deal with
Liverpool based on cordial relationship between Mourinho and Liverpool
manager, Brendan Rogers.
Also, the impending arrival of Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu from
FC Porto raises fears that Moses may be surplus to requirement at
Chelsea after all.
