Wayne Rooney Provides Proof Of His Fearsome Forehead Gash

(Gory Photo – Not For The Faint-Hearted!)
Wayne Rooney has just posted photographic proof of the hideous cut he suffered in training last week on his personal Facebook page in response to the growing number of doubters who seemed to think the Manchester United man was using it as an excuse to drop out of England’s game on Friday.

WARNING: It’s probably too late if you’ve already come this far, but this thing ain’t pretty…and the cut isn’t particularly pleasant viewing either…

Rooney added the following comment above the photos:

“Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games.

“There’s nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I’m sure people will see from these images the reason why I won’t be able to play.”

Arsenal swoop for Ozil, United sign Fellaini

Arsenal smashed their transfer record by luring German playmaker Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid on Monday, while Manchester United made a late move to sign Marouane Fellaini from Everton.
Amid dizzying activity in the closing hours of the close-season transfer window, Arsenal grabbed the headlines with a sensational swoop for Ozil worth a reported fee of 42.4 million pounds (or US$66 million).
The move came on the day that Gareth Bale was presented as a Madrid player after leaving Arsenal’s arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of around 80 million pounds, paving the way for Ozil’s exit.
Arsenal said Ozil had signed a “long-term contract,” with a reported duration of five years, after he underwent a medical examination in Munich.
“We are extremely pleased to have signed Mesut Ozil,” said long-serving Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who had come under pressure from the club’s fans to deliver a major signing.
“We have watched and admired him for some time as he has all the attributes I look for in an Arsenal player.”
Ozil told the Arsenal website: “I am thrilled to be joining a club of the stature of Arsenal and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League.”

Bale joins Madrid in €100m record deal •Moses visits Anfield

Gareth Bale
Real Madrid have broken the world transfer record to sign Tottenham forward Gareth Bale.
The Wales star has agreed a £300,000 per week, six-year deal after sealing an £85.3m (€100m) move which eclipses the £80m Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
“I have had six very happy years at Tottenham but it’s the right time to say goodbye,” the 24-year-old Bale told BBC.
“We’ve had some special times together and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
The international deal was made just after Chelsea attacker Victor Moses was a guest at Anfield to watch Liverpool beat Manchester United 1-0. The Nigerian was spotted as he made a preparatory visit ahead of his loan move to Anfield.
Bale will have a medical and then be presented to the Real Madrid fans at the Bernabeu on Monday before speaking at a media conference.
